Batiment Passager
A few years ago, I travelled to the Institute of West-African Art and Culture in The Gambia, to study music. This institute turned out to be not a building or a school, but just a place in the shade where musicians and musical wizards gathered together to play. Connected to the environment in this way, the birds and passers-by became part of the official course.
Naturally, a concert hall too is more than a construction of steel and stone. What matters is the vibrating air, the activity and the light that it contains.
