La Nuit du Maroc

Saturday 11th june 2005, Paradiso, Amsterdam

The whole of Paradiso was full of activity: littje stands with sweets, waterpipes, a workshop for bellydancing, a talkshow and stand-up comedy. Several videoscreens and 8 DJ's.
In different shift the audience was guided trough the backstage, blindfolded, and brought to the hall via the stage. Here the people had to take off thier shoes and socks and their feet were washed. Around them there was a musical journey with Moroccan songs which were intwined with fine soundexperiments, pieces of compositions and poems that were whipered in the people's ears from time tot time. 
Around 11 the hall was transformed and the Moroccan and Dutch musicians gave a performance with tradition, improvisation and experiment.    
Also during the dancenight, on three locations within the building, there where several performances from the Morrocan musicians.
