La vie n'est pas un chocolat
Amsterdamse Droogdok Maatschappij, Harbour West, 29 and 30 June 2001.
The audience arrived at the docks at sunset by bus or boat. They were welcomed with performances, drinks and food, as they prepared to enter the large shed with about 80 musicians scattered around inside. In this landscape of sound, fragments of classical and more abstract music contrasted with heavy percussion, electronics and a very short appearance of the band Welf. After an hour, DJ Eddy de Clercq gradually started his set from a platform hanging from a giant crane.
During this club night, a chef provided a large supper, dancers performed among the audience and additional live music was played over the top of the grooves.
At dawn breakfast was served on the waterfront.
