Traffique
Rockfestival Lowlands, 20 August 2004
450 percussion and wind instrument players lined up across the central field of this enormous festival. Just after the gates opened, as the public started flooding in, the music rung out across the site in fragments, flurries and waves. The audience looked both amused and bemused. As the piece was played with synchronised time-pieces in stead of a conductor, all musicians could follow it. Despite the lack of hard rock the audience seemed happy and interested and even the sky held onto her impending shower.
