La vie n'est pas un chocolat

Cityhall Den Haag, 3 performances on 22 june 2000.

The immense inner court, with its high passages and galleries, make the city hall of The Hague a splendid location for a spatial composition. The audience consisted basically of bypassers and people standing in line for the service counters. A huge group of dancers was undercover among the visitors. This set up turned the performance more into a kind of coincidental happening rather than an organised event. The connection between sound and space as between dancers and visitors, created a unity which really enclosed everyone.
