Full-Throttle 1998

During my studies, I missed the exchange of artistic ideas between the different departments of the Amsterdam School of Arts.  In response, in the autumn of 1998, I initiated "Plankgas": multi-disciplinary nights with students from the other
performing and visual art departments.  Since then we have continued to stage diverse performances of our own new work every month in the Gasthuis theatre, bringing together film, dance, theatre, music, and more.  A group of representatives from the different departments of the Amsterdam School of Arts is now responsible for collecting outstanding new works. This organisational body also forms an inter-disciplinary network, which facilitates contact and exchange between students from different disciplines.
Besides creating an exciting theatre night for a mixed audience outside the school environment, Plankgas aims to foster future collaboration between young artists from different backgrounds.
