Unrest in rust 1999-2000
The first piece (different versions, adjusted to suit each project) in which the musicians are positioned at such great distances from each other that they appear to play independently and without a conductor. The upbeats and the tempi are given by perfectly synchronised clocks. Because real ensemble playing, as in an orchestra with a conductor, is not possible with such great distances, the music is more of a confluence of sound than in a normal situation. The connection between the surroundings and the sound is intensified because the audience is not watching a performance, but the music unfurls itself in a natural and impromptu manner, as if it were a natural phenomenon.
